Bidding consortium

Table of contents

A bidding consortium (Bietergemeinschaft, BieGe) refers to the association of several bidders to submit a joint bid. In addition to suitability lending, this is the second possibility, e.g. to compensate for one's own deficits in suitability. These two forms of cooperation are not mutually exclusive. The bidding consortium can also borrow the suitability from another company.

The contracting authority treats the bidding consortium in the same way as an individual bidder and also checks the suitability here on the basis of the suitability criteria. As a matter of principle, the circumstances of the individual case and the award documents must be examined in detail to determine whether and which specifications have been established. There must also be no grounds for exclusion for any member of the bidding consortium.
