Abante spe­cial­izes in pub­lic pro­cure­ment law, con­struc­tion and IT con­tract law, pub­lic grants law and pub­lic pro­cure­ment law. We work nation­wide, both in an advi­so­ry and lit­i­ga­tion capac­i­ty. Our head office is locat­ed in Leipzig and we have a branch office in Ros­tock. How­ev­er, many of our employ­ees are only in one of the two offices every few weeks; they main­ly work from home.

Our core com­pe­tence is the prepa­ra­tion and han­dling of pro­cure­ment pro­ce­dures for pub­lic clients and grant recip­i­ents. This is where our name comes from; aban­tiare means to bring for­ward. In oth­er words, Abante moves con­tracts for­ward — legal­ly com­pli­ant and swift­ly. Some­times also for bid­ders and appli­cants, i.e. for the oth­er side of the mar­ket. But we are not a hedge fund law firm, we do not define our­selves by our hourly rates. Respect for our clients, most­ly sub­di­vi­sions of the pub­lic sec­tor, and their employ­ees demands this. Because they, just like us at abante, are moti­vat­ed by one thing above all: pro­fes­sion­al­ism. For our clients, the pro­cure­ment prin­ci­ples of pro­por­tion­al­i­ty and sus­tain­abil­i­ty, com­pe­ti­tion, equal treat­ment and trans­paren­cy are not just lip ser­vice, on the con­trary. We at abante also define our­selves by these prin­ci­ples. These prin­ci­ples apply. Always.

We are always look­ing for lawyers, non-lawyer legal advi­sors and oth­er employ­ees for our admin­is­tra­tion. Grades, degrees and for­mal qual­i­fi­ca­tions are also impor­tant for us — but per­haps not quite as impor­tant as for some oth­ers. As we have a clear pro­file, it is far more impor­tant to us whether an employ­ee iden­ti­fies with our area of respon­si­bil­i­ty. Abante dri­ves pro­cure­ment for­ward. For pub­lic clients and fund­ing recip­i­ents, we han­dle pro­cure­ment pro­ce­dures quick­ly and with legal cer­tain­ty. We secure the con­tract for bid­ders and appli­cants. We always have five prin­ci­ples in mind: pro­por­tion­al­i­ty, sus­tain­abil­i­ty, com­pe­ti­tion, equal treat­ment and trans­paren­cy. That’s what abante is all about, noth­ing (lit­tle) else.
